Our baby girl

is 18 years old today.

Where have the years gone?

Actually I have a pretty good idea. Because it doesn't really seem like yesterday when she looked like this...

There's been a lot of water under the bridge and we've done a lot of life.

Like sports, dance, choir, music, school (public and home), and on and on. We've made some big moves over the years and done a little world travel. We've had some crazy-fun memories and some just-plain-crazy memories, and we've navigated some of the rough waters of life.

And now she's an adult. She'll be able to cash her own checks, vote and give consent for information. She'll be "legally" responsible for herself. And yet, she'll still probably order kids' meals at restaurants when she can. (Just try and guess what we're having for her birthday dinner...)

And really, we couldn't be prouder. Not because she's perfect (She's not). Not because she's at the top of her class (she's not) or because she's got it all figured out (she doesn't).

But because she's Chelsea. She's fun, full of compassion and she loves life. She's honest and faithful. She has integrity. She's real. What you see is what you get.

HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY, CHELSEA
