Here we go...

So I'm starting a blog. I've been thinking about it for a while, but I've wanted a theme to frame most of my thoughts. Recently, while reading a book, I came across the idea of "this is really about that."

The author painted the image of a treasured photograph or souvenir representing an event or memory. When we look at the photo, say, of a wedding, the value of it lies in the memory of the event, not in the paper on which the image is portrayed. Same idea with the souvenir - it represents the vacation in that special place. The value in that item is beyond its own being.

So this life I lead in suburban America is beyond the mundane because it's really about that. More on that later.
